Rubber Mold and Casting Tree of Bracelet Link Setting
Rubber Mold and Casting Tree of Bracelet Link Setting
Here is the casting tree and rubber mold of a link we did for one of our client’s links. On the left is the original link and on the right are the new pieces cast in 14k yellow gold. We use a non shrinking rubber material that allows for an almost an identical replica of the original part to be made. If the original piece is in great shape this is a cost effective way to make duplicates instead of needing a 3d model made and new pieces printed. However with rubber molds what ever is put in is what comes out. If a worn down, broken, or poorly made original is used then the new parts will be exactly the same.
That’s not for us to decide, but we always let everyone know upfront. These however turned out great. Their jeweler will be cleaning and finishing the new links and we’ve already shipped out the casting. If you are looking to have a part duplicated or to have a rubber mold made contact us today.
