Repaired Diamond and Sapphire Gallery Ring

Here is a diamond and sapphire ring we helped a customer fix and resize. The original ring was not made but us, but repairing or remaking a mounting is a service we provide. The reason for bringing the ring to us was that they had damaged the piece and it had become out of round. Some stones and prongs needed to be readjusted, but the main issue was the shank. 

Looked almost as if it had been squished. Since the customer also needed it to be resized, we were able to cut the shank off, reshaped the top, cast a new bottom portion of the shank, and solder both piece together. Then the shank was re-grooved by hand at the bench. 

Doing this at the bench by hand versus remaking the whole ring in the computer, helps the ring keep that vintage handmade look, which the customer wanted to keep. And as you can tell her on the video, the you can hardly notice that anything had ever happened to the ring.
