Here is a custom wedding band we designed for a client in Georgia. The customer wanted to create a matching band for their engagement ring using their own diamonds, as the stones held sentimental value being passed down through the family.
The new stones are larger than the diamonds in the engagement ring, so the only request was to keep the band as slim as possible. The goal was to complement the original ring without overpowering it.
Although the overall design of the band may appear straightforward, it went through several revisions as the customer narrowed down the exact shape and style they wanted. For example, they were torn between having the top be more rounded versus pointed, as you see here. The pointed curve is more aesthetically pleasing and visually guides the viewer's gaze through the two rings together. The more rounded shape gave the band a blunt, static look and wasn’t as elegant.
The band will hold 15 round diamonds, ranging from 2.5mm to 1.3mm.
For this order, we only did the modeling and printing. Our client will handle the casting, and their jewelers will set the customer's diamonds.
