Casting Of 14k White Gold Peridot and Diamond Sunburst Pendant

Here is a sunburst pendant we designed for a client. The piece was cast in 14k white gold and is going to be set with an emerald cut peridot center stone and round diamonds along the border. Our client's customer wanted the pendant to be 19mm wide and to have an engraving done along the back. However their jeweler wanted to back set the peridot. After a bit of back and forth we came up with the design shown here. The seat and center bezel had to be built up and shaped by hand to make sure the stone was going to fit flush once the two plates were soldered together. We added four pegs to the bottom to help their jeweler line up the two plates and to help hold everything in place while soldering. The engraving being done to the back was too long to be added in the print (the letters were too small for casting). So the phrase is going to be laser engraved once everything is together.
