Here is a past, present, and future ring we designed for a store. Their customer had 1- 13x10mm oval gemstone and two 6x5mm half moon cut diamonds that they wanted set into a mounting. They wanted the stones to be the main focal point which meant having a little metal show when looking down at the ring. But they also wanted the whole ring to stand out.
The piece we laid out was a cathedral style shank with a large open gallery set a good bit higher than normal. From the finger to the top of the center stone will be about 8-9mm depending on how higher their jeweler sets the stone.
It’s simple and elegant design, but one of those rings where you don’t want a lot of extra details. It’s all about curving and balancing the mounting to fit the stones.
