3d Printed Diamond Snowflake Pendant
3d Printed Diamond Snowflake Pendant
Here is a diamond snowflake pendant we designed for a client over in Georgia. Their customer wanted to use their stones and have them laid out in a certain pattern. The idea was to create a piece they could wear each year for the holidays.
The arrangement of the diamonds were set by the customer by providing images of their stones already laid out in the pattern. While modeling the piece actually went through 3 revisions. The customer's original idea was to have all the stones prong set, but after seeing the renderings wasn't sold on the design. The settings were then changed to all bezel, which again the customer wasn't fond of. It wasn't until we broke up the patterns by using alternating settings that the customer truly fell in love with the layout. By using both bezel and prong settings this gave the overall snowflake look that the customer wanted.
For the pendant itself, 22 round brilliant cut diamonds were going to be set. The sizes ranged from a 5.6mm in the center down to 2mm that are scattered throughout the arms of the piece. For sizing the final measurements came in about 30mm high x 26mm wide.
We were only asked to create the model and print the pendant. Our client will be casting the print and their jewelers will be setting the customer's diamonds.
