Here is a Mom band we duplicated for a client's customer. They had images or their original ring and were wanting to recreate it as close as possible. We were asked to make the model, print, and cast the ring. Our client's jewelers were going to finish the piece and add the final polish the customer had picked out.
For our part, the images and some rough measurements from the customer were sent over. We used these are the starting point for the model and made adjustments based off the customer's feedback to narrow down the size and scale.
For the casting we left the sprues attached since the band is on the thinner side. This will help with cleaning, but will be removed once their jewelers go to polishing the inside of the ring. Besides the sprues, what you see here is basically what the final ring will look like. They’ll do some light sanding to bring down the casting surface and then apply the final polish the customer has picked out.
For the ring itself, mom measures about 16.5mm wide and the whole piece is about 1.5mm thick at the bottom and about 2mm to 2.5mm thick at the top. The letters are domed and raised up slightly higher to give visual interest.
