This is a faux-vintage style engagement ring we helped one of our clients create for their customer; and this style of ring seems popular right now. As you can find some version of it at almost every major jewelry retailer.
However, the customer wasn't pleased most of the rings looked almost identical. They were essentially mass produced designs with a few minor changes to make them seem “unique” to each store.
A lot of the photos they found online were just renderings. Once they actually saw the rings in person, they didn’t always look quite the same. They were often thinner, less substantial, and just didn’t have the look and feel the customer was hoping for.
What they really wanted was the scrollwork they loved, and the ability to use their own center stone.
Unfortunately, since it seemed like these designs were being produced elsewhere, the retailers couldn’t really customize them to the extent the customer wanted.
That’s what led them to our client, who then brought the project to us.
Since the ring has already been delivered; we can say the customer was absolutely thrilled with the finished piece.
What's even better is despite the ring being completely custom made, they actually ended up spending less than what they were originally quoted at retail.
