Here is a pair of 14k white gold diamond stud earrings we made for a customer. They wanted to make a pair of screw back earrings with about a ½ carat total weight of diamonds between the two earrings.
After showing various diamonds they picked out two matching rounds that were G-H in color and SI 1 – 2 in clarity. They were also a tad larger coming in at .60 point total weight. But because everything was being made in house, we were able to help them get a nicer pair of diamonds still within their price range.
The reason they went with screw backs over friction backs was simply because she was wanting the earrings to be more secure and didn’t want to worry if she decided to wear them for longer periods of time.
